This will be my 6th year on the board. As a native Floridian, I’m honored to be part of such a passionate, committed, smart, and talented organization, whose sole mission is to defend democracy and every citizen’s right to be heard. After graduating the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Florida State University with a Master of Public Administration, I served 23 years as a Florida legislative analyst before launching a second career as a financial advisor. In addition to being a 22-year Big Bend Hospice volunteer, I’ve served several civic organizations such as ZONTA and Business Networking International (BNI),
organizations such as ZONTA and Business Networking International (BNI), as well as a 4-year stint as the bocce ball master of ceremonies for the Cherry Laurel assisted living facility. Over the years, I’ve served the League in assorted capacities including lobby corps, speaker’s bureau, voter registration, event planning, and acting as a general rabble-rousing board member.

My soul deeply misses participating in the African Caribbean Dance Theatre (it closed after 21 years), and I certainly never thought that I would work from home. The last few years have provided many opportunities for both unexpected growth and growth in unexpected ways. I am grateful for both and continue to seek opportunities to dance, as it frees and expresses the soul. I put myself here to spread love and light and look for opportunities in every moment.
There has never been a more pressing need for The League of Women Voters as our democracy faces new challenges every day. I look forward to serving and standing with my fellow board members and chapter members to live our mission, educate voters, and work to ensure the fair and equal representation that our democracy promises.
